TIM

Initial Data

Age of the website:
21 years
Business Type:
Telecommunications — local internet service provider (FTTH, PON, internet for home and office).
Target region:
Ukraine
Advertising Platform:
Google ADS
At the project's start:
the provider had a stable network, but new subscriber acquisition relied primarily on offline advertising. There was no search advertising in Google, leading to a loss of "hot" leads looking for internet connections at their specific addresses. Additionally, there was no tracking for website inquiries.

Objectives

  • /01 Attract New Subscribers: Generate connection requests from residents and businesses within the coverage area.
  • /02 Maximum Local Reach: Ensure ad impressions for geographic queries (city, districts, residential complex names).
  • /03 Improve Lead Quality: Filter out technical queries from existing subscribers (support, payments) to focus exclusively on new sales.
  • /04 Set Up Analytics: Implement tracking for "Leave a Request" forms and clicks on phone numbers.
  • /05 Competitive Advantage: Highlight the provider against large national networks by emphasizing connection speed and local service.

Implementation Strategy

The strategy focused on building a hyper-local advertising campaign. Queries were divided into categories: general (“get internet”), technological (“fiber optic internet,” “internet that works during power outages”), and geographic. The primary focus was on connection speed, signal stability, and attractive tariff plans for new customers.

Work Performed

Semantic Core Collection and Clustering

  • Analyzed search queries relevant to the ISP niche.

  • Formed clusters: “internet for the private sector,” “internet for apartments,” “business internet.”

  • Isolated a separate segment for energy-independent internet queries (PON).

Campaign Structuring

  • Created ad groups with precise geographic targeting focused on the itim.net network coverage area.

  • Configured campaigns targeting different audience types (B2C — residents, B2B — offices and shops).

Responsive Search Ad Development

  • Prepared ad copies with clear USPs: “Connection in 24 hours,” “Gigabit Internet,” “Works without power (PON).”

  • Created ads for promotional offers (e.g., “First 3 months at half price”).

Ad Extension Setup

  • Added “Sitelinks” to the coverage check page, tariff plans, and the client portal.

  • Configured “Call” extensions and “Structured Snippets” listing available speeds and services (TV, video surveillance).

Traffic Optimization (Negative Keywords)

  • Developed a robust list of negative keywords to filter out existing subscribers: “personal account,” “how to pay,” “support,” “hotline,” “internet not working.” This allowed the budget to be focused solely on acquiring new connections.

Analytics and Remarketing

  • Set up goals in Google Analytics 4 to track connection requests and contact clicks.

  • Enabled remarketing to re-engage users who viewed tariffs but did not complete the request form.

Results

New Lead Flow: A fully functional system for attracting subscribers via Google Search was launched.
Lower Cost per Lead (CPL): Strict traffic filtering (negative keywords) prevented wasted spend on existing customers.
High Relevance: Ads consistently hold top positions for key queries within the region of operation.
Marketing Transparency: Configured analytics provide clear visibility into the acquisition cost of each new subscriber.
Foundation for Growth: Established a structure that is easily scalable as the network expands to new streets or settlements.
